Nothing swayed here like usual. Our sliders are wide open, but didn't hear any pool water splashing. I wasn't sure what it was, so I called CBob and he told me.
The house I live in is not the most well constructed. I am surprised that all the walls are still standing, even after a short fast roll like that one was.

Re: Earthquake
I'm on the hillside east of Joco. There was very little movement, more like a heavy vibration with a bit of a lurch to it or a slight dropping feel, but the noise was incredible!! My first thought was a very large explosion nearby. We've had those before out this way...

Did anyone ask if the crack was there the day before?
Re: Earthquake
I didn't see a crack there before however my wife thinks there may have been albeit it is longer and wider........so who knows. I'll have to document them all for the next time..........jajajaja.

I didn't feel anything in Ajijic. The USGS map doesn't show anything in Jalisco. Are you sure it was an earthquake and not some big explosion?,

Supposed to have been an earthquake. It will be on Mexican TV tonight. My PT said there's a rumour going around that it could have been a meteorite.
My PT lives on Ocampo and said he didn't feel much at his house either.

Definitely an earthquake. I felt the foreshock and a second later the jolt. It's listed as a 4.5 quake 6 km north of Jocotepec on the Servicio Sismologico Nacional website. I'm new and can't post links yet. Google the name of the agency and it should come up. But I'm also puzzled why it isn't shown on the USGS site.

No need to apoligize for an honest error...stick around here for a while & you'll soon figure who the petty people are that get off by putting others down...just consider the source & don't take them seriously.
BTW: What is that great wall hanging behind you two?

Re: Earthquake
Still not showing on USG site. They have a section for reporting if an earthquake you experience doesn't show up on the worldwide site. I submitted the info from Mexico's seismology service.

No wonder the cartels are battling for the plaza when people are saying that a well documented earthquake(was reported on most every online media site first thing this AM) was really a meteorite! Buy stock in oregano because now the cartels know what they can get away with selling at the Lake.

Re: Earthquake
Anyone know where the epicenter was located - I remember a devastating quake in Guadalajara about 20-25 years ago that flattened large areas of the city. We ahve been having a couple of felt rumbles up here in No Cal recently too

Re: Earthquake
Something like 6 km north of Joco. That would put it somewhere around Las Trojes.

Re: Earthquake
It did not feel like a normal earthquake to me...the whoosh of wind, noise and straight up and down movement all makes me think that a meteorite could possibly explain it. Meteorites can be the cause of earthquakes.

A clue would be the period at the end as internet addresses do not end in a period. Try this http://www2.ssn.unam.mx/website/jsp/ultimos.jsp
