Earthquake
Just felt a long rolling earthquake here in the village. Pool water was rolling over the sides.
Re: Earthquake
I felt it in Chapala at 9:29. Just a gentle sway.

Re: Earthquake
What does the United States Golf Association know about earthquakes? HA! HA!
Reports from Morelia and Patzcuaro indicate that they were shaken pretty hard over there.

Re: Earthquake
Neighbor said her chandelier was swaying, but I felt nothing.
But then again, I usually do not feel anything until after my coffee.

For nearly 20 minutes afterwards the water in my pool was still rolling back and forth. Hopefully everyone in the Petatlan area are OK.

That is very strange indeed. One would think the shock waves would radiate in a circular fashion but maybe not.
Re: Earthquake
Heard it as centered in Guerrero State, and over 7 on the scale.
In my old house, no damage, but the living room windows now close all the way so I'm assuming the so-called foundation must have shifted.
Haven't heard any more reports from the epicenter.......hoping for the best.

Re: Earthquake
I was lying in bed still. Felt it and assumed I was dreaming or something, because I reasoned that along with it would be sounds from outside, sounds of alarm, or actual alarms, something. All was quiet, so I went back to sleep.

Re: Earthquake
We were eating breakfast. I was facing south and felt swaying side to side, made be dizzy. I looked out the window and the trees were swaying East to West. My wife was facing East and felt nothing! Our pool was sloshing too.

Re: Earthquake
Given the 7.2 magnitude, damages seem fairly light:

Yah, CBob, house siting in San Jaun Cosala. It woke me up all the chandeliers were swinging for what seemed like a long time afterward. Also just read on Yahoo that there were two more yesterday and one today (Saturday). In same MX area.

The Ring of Fire is quite active these days, I'm not surprised that there are earthquakes. Being raised in SoCal, I never feel anything unless it is over a 7...weird, I know.
