I´d add that i live here mostly and detest driving and it doesn´t make sense to bore myself to death (12 to 30 hours by land versus only 2 to 4 by air), pay more (toll roads and gas run $300 to $400US GDL to California)and risk all the crazy stuff of driving (cows, horses, narcos, pissed off indians, drunks, etc) when I can fly NOB for about $100US to $200US each way or sometimes for less.

I too live here. We go north maybe once a year or less. We always fly, it's way to far to drive, so my vote for flying isn't a result of changing plans.

It's getting to be too expensive for us to fly to Guad anymore. And we have to drive too far, pay to park too long in questionable neighborhoods and stay in motels. Bringing the trailer is a lot more comfortable, and the cost is about the same. We can take our time and stay somewhere as long as we like before moving on. Hard to beat. Lizzy
