Like/Dislike button poll

Here's a poll. This is for the buttons that were at the bottom of a post not the thumbs up/down.

I'll join those in favor of the bottom of the page choices.

I second gringal's vote in favor of the buttons.

Buttons? i don't need no stinkin' buttons.

I voted for the "like and dislike" buttons. What I really want to know is if you can get rid of the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons. They remind me of Gladitorial attitudes.

I was thinking I did not care one way or the other. But, I agree with Ferret. Own your opinion. On TOB they one day flipped a switch and what had been anonymous reactions now showed who said what. This applied to past posts as well as those going forward. I was surprised at how many posts I saw with likes from both MC and moderator two.

I vote FOR the "like - dislike" buttons at the bottom of the post if the top right ones can be eliminated.

I can´t get the like/dislike to register for me, so no opinions of posts here.
Thumbs up or down worked fine for me.

The only problem I have is that I get an email every time someone likes my post now. I haven't found a way to turn it off.

OK, I think I found a way for those that have the same problem. Go to your UCP in the drop down menu. Click on the notifications tab and scroll down to "receive notification on like or dislike".

What do you have to do to activate it? It doesn´t work on my laptop the way it is now.

It works for everyone else. Nothing is required to activate it. What browser are you using?

Well I just "liked" your post using Google Chrome on my laptop. I have no idea why it doesn't work for you. Computerguy, any thoughts??

Works on Firefox and Chrome. Could be a hidden AddOn setting. Would not be Flash, because Firefox doesn't support Flash (Chrome support for Flash ends in December this year).

What is a hidden AddOn setting and can you get rid of it?

In too many different places on different browsers. Google will tell you.

this leaves a choice of email or push notification or neither. I'll probably choose neither but.....what is a push notification?

I think a push notification is a popup when you are signed in like when you get a PM.

These buttons are probably Java script. That's what my thumbs up/down were.
