Re: La Mision Apartments
I would never live on the west side, because of traffic and everything else is east of there.

"West side of what?" Everything is East? Ajijic is west including Roberto's, Hacienda, La Taverna, Aurora's, Pacifico Seafood, Tabarka, El Sarape, LCS, etc.. Some friends lived at La Mision while searching for a house. They liked it.

West Ajijic is so much quieter than Ajijic or Upper Ajijic or anywhere East of Ajijic. We don't hear the cohetes as loud as Ajijic and Upper Ajijic or the church bells. Then there's the loud cars, both with speakers and loud stereos, and Mexicans out drinking till all hours of the AM disturbing everyone in the village.
Traffic is everywhere. Try going from the Libriamento or San Antonio to Ajijic. Same traffic, usually more. More on weekends when the Tapatios come from GDL to Ajijic. As David said we have all the restaurants he mentioned above including the "Best" fish store to be found at Lakeside. You don't smell a fishy fish store like when you walk by La Playa. La Playa and El Nayar Pescaderias cannot compare in quality, selection or "Freshness" of their fish.
Time of day plays even a larger role when travelling the Carretera.
I think you mean that new apartment or condo place in West Ajijic. I met some people who lived there and they liked it very much.

Since there appears to be some confusion as to the location, here is their website:

And a link to a map:

David, I just looked at CG's map. It is where I thought it was in West Ajijic off the Carretera by taking a left at the pet shop where the Villa Lucerna sign is. This place is nearly new.

Interesting. I wonder if the name of the place on the Libramiento changed its name or if we now have 2 La Misions?

We were there when it was first opening.....we loved it being off the carretera and pretty close to the lake. Just wanted to talk to someone living there now to see how thy like it after being there awhile.

West end is great, lot's of good things, not too many bad ones. Traffic in Ajijic is just dreadful, mind you, you can walk just about anywhere, major benefit. Admittedly traffic is bad on the weekends in the west end due to those abysmal fish restaurants.
David, La Mision is a subdivision on the libramiento.

Re: La Mision Apartments
These apartments are in a quiet area away from noise unless one of the big estates is having a party which can happen anywhere. I would check them for ventilation since the ones facing south may get hot in April and May. I do not know if they have A/C or fans but I would think they would be necessary there although you probably would get a breeze from the lake late afternoon.
At the corner of the street there is a lady called Doña Rosa who works and live on that large property on the lake. She can fix sprains, she fixed my foot for 50 pesos. She can also tell you what sex your baby will be but thank goodness I do not need that service any longer.

Re: La Mision Apartments
That is exactly what we were wondering about. None of them faced the south but there are some new units that might. The bedrooms were all in the back of the apartment (south side) which could be warm. The bottom floor would probably be the coolest. There seemed to be lots of ventilation and I believe there were fans.We will be there in April and have a month to month rental of a nice casita owned by friends of ours but we will be looking for a nice long term two bedroom sometime in the future so we can entertain guests and family.

On the other hand you only have 2 months of heat and the place should be nice and warmer during "cold" weather". I would think the top floor gets a breeze from the lake.
My cleaning lady lives in a casita on the next street and knows someone there , I will see if I can talk to the lady who lives there and let you know.
