Re: Best Christmas Ever
Getting past the past when you are young can happen but you never forget, but for an adult to do it to another adult is not ever to be forgotten or forgiven.

Forgiveness means you get to let it go. The offense is still on them unless they ask for forgiveness but if you're a forgiving person, offenses won't eat you up inside. You let the offender off the hook. I look at it this way, of course I'm not out to offend/hurt people but surely my actions and words have offended some at one time or another. I desire to have room for error and be forgiven and extend the same courtesy to others. Those who are set on destroying the reputation of others only destroy themselves. Look, I got Someone bigger to answer to and so will they so let Someone else deal with them, I got better things to do. Get it?
Totally Agree!

Yes. And the best thing is to put as much physical and/or psychic distance between yourself and the offender. All animals learn this. Some take longer than others.
If you are the kind of person who doesn't wish to harm anyone, it takes a while to "get it" that some others are just plain mean spirited and get their jollies putting others down or drowning kittens.
I think some are just born that way. My first encounter with that was a neighbor kid who grinned as he beat up smaller children. His parents were nice people and deeply hurt when he started spending time in juvie halls.
They don't all end up as genuine criminals. They get off on minor meanness. They're the co-worker who sets you up to look bad to the boss; the husband or wife who lives to criticize. And so on.
IMO, don't bother with "forgiveness". Just learn to recognize the type, and don't go back for more of the same.

I agree with gringal and hope you will take comfort in knowing everyone who knows your situation is completely sympathetic.

No answer yet...I'm hoping it wasn't from Santa.

I'm sorry Ferret, but Ho Ho Ho is no longer politically correct. It's now ladies of the evening, ladies of the evening, ladies of the evening.
Just thought you'd like to know. ;-)
