Horrible Awful News About Conchita

Conchita the older woman who sells/sold rugs/blankets at the lakefront, and usually can be seen sitting on the sidewalk near Emma's and So Chic Boutique was assaulted brutally this past weekend per reports on FB.  Yves the restaurateur and longtime friend and helper to Conchita reports she is still in a Guadalajara hospital recovering (there are disturbing photos of her head wounds at his FB page).

Yves and possibly other restaurants/businesses may be holding fundraisers for her hospital bills in the future.

UPDATE WITH HOW TO HELP:
Yves De Choulot is accepting donations at Yve's Restaurant, located on the west side of Ajijic. Also, Nova-Lee DoBush posted the following: Lake Chapala Real Estate, Constitution #26 (around the corner from where Conchita lives) are accepting donations for her medical expenses, care and whatever she may need when she returns home. Donations can be dropped off Monday - Friday between the hours of 9 - 5. Receipts will be issued for monetary donations to provide complete transparency.

UPDATE: Conchita was released from a Guadalajara hospital on Aug. 6th and friends have taken her to Ancianitas de Santa Clara de Asis a refuge for homeless elderly women on the southside of the Lake near San Pedro de Tesistán.

We are so happy she is making a recovery. Hopefully she can remain there fulltime.
