New Electronic FFM
Has anyone used the new electronic form designed to replace the paper FFM forms for entering Mexico? The link to the form is HERE .
A friend is coming to visit and found that the drop-down list to indicate the port of entry does not contain an entry for the Guadalajara airport, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, or a city name. Is this a problem that the government will correct ahorita or is there some other work-around? Paper FMM forms do not seem to be given by the airlines any longer.

Re: New Electronic FFM
I didn't see a listing under Aeropuertos for PVR (Puerta Vallarta) either.
Both GDL and PVR airports are part of the pilot program for paperless entry.
Maybe that is the reason they don't appear on that FMM site??
I would tell your friend not to worry....either the airline or the INM people will give him/her the forms if needed. Though I see more FB postings saying tourists are simply getting stamped passports with xxx days written in by agent.

Fyi today we had to fill in FMMs at GDL INM office and give to Aeromexico. Outbound flight to EU, we are Permanentes.

Yet when i returned to Guadalajara from the US last night at 23:45, they said they longer required them. You know the filled out ones So, I guess, it depends upon the airport in Mexico one enters at. Weird

Left on October 5th and American Airlines wanted the bottom half of the paper FMM. Yesterday, when I returned, I handed in the top of which the gentleman put on a neatly stacked file and then stamped my passport.

Re: New Electronic FFM
I left via Columbia crossing/'checked out w INM, got stamped. Returning to GDL on Monday from SAT, Volaris didn't ask for FMM. Passport stamped. (They need to invest in more INK to be legible.)
The only 'surprise' was the City Express hotel being built where the GDL parking lot used & the MONSTER beams of what is to be a Hilton adjacent to Domestic arrival side. Wow.

Re: New Electronic FFM
Don't know if they have expanded the list but the original announcement said only 5 test airports.
Personally, I am waiting to hear of someone with the electronic FMM running into an official who either didn't receive or read the memo on this new procedure. Personally, I am more comfortable with the paper FMM at checkpoints!

Soooo.......I haven't travelled internationally since they supposedly eliminated the FMM's. Has anyone travelled recently? Do we still need to check in at the INM office before departing?

Re: New Electronic FFM
I asked around on FaceBook and got several different answers. Within the last week two people said they were required to fill out the forms and three people said they were not. One was told by the airline to go back and get the form and another was told by the INM agent to fill out the form. I guess it really depends on who is working on a particular day. It's no wonder Mexico lost its class 1 FAA grade if it can't even get this right......lol.

Yes, you need to check in at the INM office before departing. I did a quick trip to Portland and back last week.
1. Get your paper or electronic boarding pass.
2. Go to the INM office, present your boarding pass, passport and temporal/permanente card. The officer will stamp your passport.
3. When checking your baggage and/or boarding your flight the attendant(s) will examine your passport for the stamp.
Upon your return:
A. At INM present Passport & temporal/permanente card.
B. For Aduana you still need to present a completed declaration form. And, press the button for the red/green light.
I’ve done this cycle twice since mid December.
Safe travels….

For what it's worth.......I watched carefully when I entered back into Mexico. The agent scanned my passport, scanned my resident card and then put a stamp with some writing on the last page of my passport. At no time did he look for the exit stamp which was jammed in with 5 others on a page in the middle of my passport. I think the exit stamp may be useless.....

It's only useless if it's not simply a confirmation of what has already been entered into their database. That database does not need to be seen by you because there could be someone, somewhere busily entering the data provided on the exit part of the form.

Re: New Electronic FFM
Nope, there is absolutely no data or scan or anything taken when you get the exit stamp. There is no "form". She didn't even look at my picture page. She just opened the passport to wherever there was room for her stamp. The process took 5 seconds.

When you EXITED Mexico, you handed in part of the form... yes or no? I had to when I went to Toronto last October. THAT is the part that could be entered into a database while you're out of the country... yes or no?
I realize things are in transition as well so maybe they're evolving? Dunno but it seems that a lot of scanning of the passport happens when you're in transit and I'm assuming that all that info is shared. Certainly the U.S. knows who's entering their country from Canada these days before the plane even leaves the airport.

There is no form at all.

Re: New Electronic FFM
When I flew to Canada this summer from PV, I went to the immigration desk with the spare form I had in hand, the agent there just waved me away, said I didn't need to do anything. So no one even stamped my passport on exit.
