If you need a factura after Jan. 1, be sure you get an electronic factura. Cash register and paper facturas will no longer be acceptable. Per a local attorney all business must provide electronic facturas and any charge over 2000 pesos will have to be paid by credit card, check or bank transfer. Over 2000 pesos cannot be paid in cash.

The 2000 peso limit is on employee salaries paid in cash. If not paid via the above methods the salary payments will not be deductible as a business expense.

The big change is one has to have a Factura to deduct rental cost. Do you think landlords
will give one?  I doubt it unless they are paying Hacienda taxes. This is a giant pain in the
butt for local small business and has far more impact than the article makes one think. Ask
your friend who owns a small business.

Yes I use businesses that don't even have a computer. They write everything down on a pad and one uses a manual typewriter to type my facturas. Bucket of worms.
