I live east of Chapala in the Municipio of Poncitlan and those of us 60 and over were registered yesterday to go to Mezcala later this week to get our first shots. The health unit there is doing approx. 200 doses per day of the Sinovac (Chinese) vaccine. Then we will need to go in 30 days for the second shot.

The local Dellegado of the nearby village called me to come and get registered. They had a signup area set up in the plaza. Had to bring the SEGOB CURP sheet and a piece of photo ID (drivers license was OK). I had previously registered on the Federal Govt website but that did not matter.

I imagine the outlying areas will get the vaccine first because they are considered a marginalized population.

Maybe. The Dellegado was keen on trying to contact as many of the 60 plus residents in the community as possible. No indication of any prejudice against the foreigners as I might have expected in this area.

In the above link, it reads alarmist but does NOT give numbers of people vaccinated to bring the deaths into perspective.
I like Jreboll's link better and it comes down to this quote:

All went well today and we got our first shot of Sinovac vaccine today in Mezcala. About 200 people 60+ from our local community were done. The organization was superb for the first day at this. No side effects yet. Next shot is going to be given in 20-40 days from today.
