What difference would it make if the absolute correct numbers were published? Would anything change as far as the government, people in general, or you as an individual, do different. Far to easy to say the numbers are not correct, which they probably aren´t and engage in meaningless talk.
Means about as much to me as the temperature on the moon.

Agreed. I just assume that everyone's infected and stay as far away as possible. The exception was trying to get the vaccination. Hadn't been with that many people in such close quarters in over a year. Then they ran out of the vaccine and I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I sure hope that everyone is taking their Vitamin D. I tripped over this video about Vitamin D watching the excellent video posted on TOB by Mudgirl about "Why you can't compare Covid vaccines. It's long (1 hr) but excellent. The video following it is the short one posted by Mudgirl.

Chinese official says local vaccines 'don't have high protection rates'
China's top disease control official has said the efficacy of the country's Covid vaccines is low, in a rare admission of weakness.
In a press conference, Gao Fu added that China was considering mixing vaccines as a way of boosting efficacy.
China has developed four different vaccines approved for public use, though some trials abroad had suggested efficacy as low as 50%.
Mr Gao later said his comments had been misinterpreted.

60-Minutes had Dr. Matthew Hepburn, head of DARPA telling about its involvement in the development of the covid vaccine. He said they were ready for any future covid pandemics. He said they had developed blueprints On how to rapidly manufacture vaccines for any covid viruses that might appear in the future.

Mr. Gao's "misrepresented" remarks have only been reported in the Global Times, a newspaper published the the Chinese government/communist party. His revised remarks were reported in that rag AFTER the Chinese government removed Mr. Gao's original remarks from ALL social media, news stories, etc. This censorship/sanitization is not unusual for China; Chinese citizens were continuing to try to preserve Mr. Gao's original statements (they are on tape) via social media by using misspelled words and names to try to bypass the governments censors.

Gao's remarks were controversial in China and, as his comments gained traction on social media and international news platforms, Chinese censors quickly scrubbed discussions online. State media swiftly put out an interview with Gao to walk back his comments.
Global Times, a state-run nationalist tabloid, quoted Gao as saying reports about his admission were "a complete misunderstanding," and published new, toned-down remarks from Gao.
