I read that article yesterday from the "scamdemic" guy. I actually find it harder to understand the mentality of people like this than the die-hard Trumpers.

He's smart enough, and non-arrogant enough to acknowledge the error of his previous way of thinking and the unnecessary suffering it has resulted in, and want to warn others, yet he wasn't smart enough to listen to the science and the warnings in the first place.

But I'm glad to see these types trying to get the message out, as the deniers will be more open, hopefully, to listening to someone like them, rather than the "lefties" and scientists. If it results in just 5 more people deciding that wearing a mask and distancing isn't the end of the world, nor a imposition on their freedom, that could result in many less infections.

I started writing about this from the time we got our first case here in mid-March, then steadily rose to about 10-15 per week. Memorial Day arrives and with it the end of lockdown. Now we are doing about 350 cases a day in Cameron County and the same in ?Hidalgo County. Reynosa and Matamoros across the border are also suffering but with little testing no one knows how bad things are.

I remember the first I heard of Covid-19 was on this webforum in a post by you, I thought in February??

If you think it is bad in the deep valley, look at Starr County.  The medical staff is now determining who gets treatment and who is sent home to die because no more beds.

Hey but WTF, it's Starr County right so probably 95% Mexican.  You think Washington cares?

I believe the covid19 is here with us to stay. No vaccine but maybe some medications to ease the symptoms. It is the new flu, cold, dengue, malaria, etc. I'm not paying much attention to it anymore. I will wear a mask whenever I'm out until I'm told it is no longer necessary.

I am not worried about the virus because I know on October 31, 2020 the president of the US will announce that 341,000,000 vaccines will be delivered on Tuesday November 3. He is the Chosen One. He will save the world. The most hits on Twitter ever.

If there are 350 positive cases a day in this county then you know that the chances of being close to an infected person on any given day is very high. I’ve established my ground rules and try to discipline myself daily but I still have lapses from time to time. This bothers me because I know if I become positive it’ll be because of an inadvertent lapse.

Nah, he was just trying to keep the value of the white seating area up by putting all the Blacks in one spot.
Much like his philosophy on his real estate developments.  Just part of being a stable, genius businessman.

Joco appears to be the local hotspot. They should close the borders for a few weeks.

Cameron County in south Texas had 1439 positives yesterday. With a population of 425,000 we should reach herd immunity in less than a year. Maybe we will be the first in the nation.

I looked through the article hoping it would mention the viral load as a factor. If you go to a park you will probably breath in some viruses but the difference will be very different if there are 50 people around without a mask or only one or two.
When the last storm came through last week it knocked out our electricity for about 24 hrs so we had to open our windows due to the heat. I was very concerned because all those winds distribute the virus throughout and we did see a dramatic uptick in the number of cases after the storm.
