TV streaming via Firestick
A friend of mine recently bought a Firestick from a local supplier for streaming TV and movies. It was a one time cost of $1600 pesos. It was supposed to give access to everything however most of the apps that are loaded on it either don't work or ask you to sign up for a fee. The channels that he does get are blurry like 480p or less. He has Ilox 300mbps so speed is not the issue. There is no menu guide or anything. Piece of crap........beware.

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
Bob. I was probably the person who sold your friend that. I have installed hundreds lakeside since november.
It is not crap, i havent had any complaint or communication about this.
Please ask them to contact me.
The system works well. Its all free.
If they are being asked to pay they are trying to use the Amazon apps to get the channels, this is not they way i showed them.these channels are free within the apps i install.they are doing something wrong. Its not my system thats at fault, and i deeply resent the comments.
I will most happily visit them again to re do the demo and it will work.
Tel 331 741 4907.
And as and when this issue is sorted would appreciate you removing the post.thank you

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
The sticks i sell are not available in mexico.
I buy from the usa .i pay shipping and iva.
You are paying fir my time to install the apps. My experience in making sure the apps i install arent going to disappear any time soon and are reliable.
I come to your home with a free no obligation demo. I spend 90 mins or more with customers if they need it. I leave it in full working order and instructions. You think all that is easy money ??
Its clear your friend has not followed the instructions given and as i said will be happy to go back and remind him on how it works.

Sorry im furious at this and missed part of your post.
If he has ilox he must get the ip changed from private to public.has he done this?
If not some of the apps wont work or be bad quality.
I can get this done for him through ilox noc or he can do it himself. All was working perfectly when it was installed otherwise he wouldnt have bought it..he must have changed to ilox later.
I have had scores if not hundreds of recommendations and likes on my facebook ads. Screen shots available.

I would agree that if Hickton fixes the issue this post should be removed. From what I hear, he’s very responsive to problems.

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
I have heard nothing but good things about the Firestick, As with most technology issues, it's typically user error. Ya can't get furious about stupidity around here ~ it's too prevalent. Consider the benefits of this thread a plus.. free advertising, better than the Ojo i say. I am not deterred, got your number now. I have been waiting for Ilox. Leave the thread - it could let people know there is an option in a post-Shaw world.. But srsly - anyone who would buy new technology, have a issue & then just complain to friends rather than re-contact you regarding set-up issues? geez

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
Obviously i dont know who this person is, with the facts given, this must have been sold ovet six months ago .i know of no one or no company who would even dream of sorting a problem out after that length of time.
But i will.
Not heard of anyone getting 300 mbps round here. Interesting.
The system will work fine on a steady 5, i now have a paid service option with hd, hundreds of usa, canadian, uk, european and latin american channels, nfl game pass. Nhl, and all mlb games .Epg. 3 day catchup, multi screen and movies on demand which needs 10mbps. 12.99usd monthly.with one off installation fee of 300 pesos.
Free demo like the free service. If you have ilox need to get ip changed, which is free and i can get this done for you if required.

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
We have a Firestick acquired from another source, but it works just fine IF used as instructed! We do have problems with streaming but that is a TelMex issue. We can watch all manner of TV programs, movies etc from all over the world.

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
Thank you. Customer service and satisfaction are the most important to me, thats why i am furious at the comments.
In some instances if internet is too slow i will not sell, although had a customer yesterday with 3.5mbps bit of buffering but still loved it and bought it. Others the same.
Most problems can be easily resolved by phone, messenger or email.
Should a house call be required the first one is free. After that 200 pesos, but in many instances if its a minute job, i dont charge.
Im waiting for that call.

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
I just tell it like it is. The 3 apps you told them to use are blurry and pixilated on most channels or the channel doesn't work at all. They gave it to me to check out and I had the same problems. I also have high speed Ilox so it's not a speed issue. I'll tell them to call you and will be present when you are there. They are out of town for a week.hickton wrote:Bob. Re: TV streaming via Firestick
Ok...another question..maybe it needs a new thread, not sure.
Spotify streams perfectly on the Firestick and my Fire tablet, the laptop is fine also.
Sooo, why is it almost impossible to stream sports and other programs on the stick?
I even called TelMex about speeds....they had me turn off all Wi-Fi in the house and checked...said all fine with the modem. ARRRGH!!!

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
hickton has the experience to answer that question, but my suspicion is: overwhelming number of subscribers or users on a less-than optimum group of servers; redirecting signals to those same users from other original sources; not-very-powerful servers to start with; and poorly-written apps. Because pretty much everyone has that problem, and considering the huge number of available streaming services, there is no way to tell which ones are good and which are bad other than first-hand experience.
If some "channels" stream perfectly well and others don't, it's not the stick itself. The prime advantage I see of using someone like hickton is that he's done a lot of testing before deciding what apps to put on his standard stick. The drawback is there are thousands of these apps, and no one can do it all. It's why I don't offer it as a service myself; better left to someone who can specialize.

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
Too many users on the server could certainly explain the lack of connection and/or blur and pixelation.
My friend also has a high def 65" TV which may magnify the problem. I guess it's all about expectations. Netflix works very well on his TV.

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
Both computer guy and bob are correct.
If a great number of people are watching the same channel at the same time, sometimes the servers cant cope. Thats why i put different apps on the stick, from different sources.
For instance super bowl, the biggest viewed sports event, i suggested people dont connect to cbs or whoever else was transmitting from usa, but go to a uk channel where theres not so much interest and was after midnight, less people watching and therefore better stream.
As far as Netflix and prime etc, cant compare then with free apps or paid.
They both are multi billion companies who can invest in the biggest and best severs and can send more information with a slower speed.
In many cases 2 or 3 mbps is sufficient.
The free guys rely on donations and some advertizing to survive, hence dont have the cash to invest in the best servers .

Re: TV streaming via Firestick
Hickton, if the Ilox IP address is the problem what information is required to change it from public to private. I will try to get this done before you come over.
