Not happy with TV

Hi. I've got a smart TV, a Firestick, a Netgear19 router with builtin VPN, and I'm very unhappy with my TV options. A lot of the time, the service doesn't seem to believe it's coming from where my VPN says it is, e.g., Canada. Other times, like Prime or Netflix, it days, "Hey, you're using a VPN, bug off!"

I know there's a guy around who's a Firestick maven, but don't have contact info. His info or any other help appreciated.
