Planning to go to Mazamitla this weekend. Wondering if the road construction is finished on hiway 15 on the other side of the lake up to the turnoff at 405.

Yes, 15 is finished as far as Tizapan( well, till about 1/2 mile outside of town, and at least that is wide and ha asphalt), and a really pleasant drive if you know how to get through San Luis  on a weekend.

Is there more than one way to get through San Luis Soyatlan?

I often go down to the lake and avoid the main road, which can really be a bottle neck. There may be a way to avoid the center of town on the mountainside also.

San Luis is often easier on a motorcycle. Very Happy Thanks for the information.

Coming from Joco if the traffic is crawling, just turn left toward the lake about a blk past the Pemex. Drive a few blocks to the malecon and then turn right. Follow the malecon until you hit a dead end. Turn right again and you will hit the carretera again on the east side of San Luis past the traffic jam. You don't need no stinkin' GPS.
