Actually that is close but it is only the concrete planter on the corner. Both are real serious problems for going around the corner especially for buses but Mainecoon probably wouldn't love your idea.

Luckily, I only travel to Chapala once a week but my trip takes me past the town hall... Over the years the various administrations have added tid bits of supposed improvements to the detriment of parking spaces...If they would get rid of the bollards on the square and put in angle parking things would be much improved...my two centavos

There are planters or something all along in front of the bank, etc. that will prevent parking. Right where the banking customers want to park. What were they thinking?

There doesn't appear to be any thinking taking place for a lot of what is happening Lakeside these days.

I wonder if the engineers who design these changes only see the roads on paper and never actually see anything in person.

I really don't know where the blame lies but am pretty sure it can be spread around from planning to execution... and nobody asking questions in between. After all, you get paid for following the plans if you build it and it's wrong. But you're still going to get paid for breaking it up again and doing it properly.

I'm still wondering why they are repaving a perfectly good caraterra in Ajijic. Using up State tax dollars before year end? The roads within Ajijic centro have to be some of the worst in Mexico.......lol.

Yep that is why I avoid Ajijic as much as possible but as usual Riberas is forgotten. The worst streets are there. You need a tank to travel on them. LoL.

Re: Road Construction
Isn't Riberas responsible for it's own roads?

Riberas is not a fracc so why would it be responsible for its own roads? There are no dues collected that would make it even possible to fix the roads. Hell, we can't even get sewers put in.

It's called job security. Do a shitty job and you get to come back and redo it next year. Really strange concept. That if you do a good job that lasts, you'll be recommended to others being a smarter form of job security seems to be an alien concept.

Sorry, I always understood that Riberas is a failed fracc that has a poor standing with the Chapala govt.

It may have a poor standing with Chapala but they sure are jacking up the property taxes on lots of folks in Riberas. One rose 150%.
