guess it was a good thing to cancel my week in Sinaloa ~ Mazatlan.. 10 hr return bus ride did not inspire me either. nonstop TAR.. hummm.. But what is it with adult clubs & gov't employees - geez. Are such clubs the DBA cartel members?

Was in PV last week.....planes coming and going every 15 minutes....restaurants packed with white skins in shorts....big cruise ships every day in the harbor.
I guess they don't read these advisories.
Drove down through Mascota and returned through Compostela. didn't see many foreign plated cars.  Most of the tourist money is not highway travelers.

I'm in Manzanillo at the moment and no trouble that I have seen although there is a large amount of Federales and Marines cruising around in their 50 cal. mounted pick up trucks. I will stay out of the "gentlemen's clubs"........ Jaja.

Caligirl...too bad you gave up your trip to Mazatlan! We lived there for about 20 yrs and only left after getting tired of the weather. Never had a single problem but if a person uses good common sense, you would have a fanatic time! So many cultural activities, good seafood and great beaches. We love TAR airline for getting there and back. Might want to reconsider.....?

Thx WilieRae, someday Maz.. instead had a wonderful 'stay-cation' - home, pool, open markets, bazaars, perfect weather, simple things often make us the happiest. And, what's not to like about Lakeside in March! Smelling those sweet orange blossoms...don't need to leave town for crime either, now it seems..geez

Drove to Barra de Navidad for a long weekend March 9-13. No large show of force by Federales or the Marines, Navy etc on the highways. Just a few Federales chasing speeders.

Maybe they are all in Manzanillo. There are local, state and federal police everywhere along with the usual military.

The warnings are basically unchanged for two years in re Colima and Jalisco.
