Big News
Superlake is toast.
It was described to me as an "explosion" between manager and owner. The store is pathetic, produce area is trashed, lots of regular things are gone. No sign of some key employees, long faces on the others.
I'm told Pancho is taking time for himself, exercising, thinking about what to do next, and I believe he will rise again. If you see him, offer him support. Sad.

So, you are saying the store is open but Pancho is not there and things are screwed up?

Yep. Exactly. And the ambience is sad and apprehensive.

I don't shop there regularly but did take my sister-in--law from Seattle in there on Tuesday and things looked fine then. Shelves were stocked and the checker seemed fine.

I was there this evening and it looked as good as it usually does, big difference from the other day. Happy to see that! Hope it all shakes out well for everyone.

I thought that judgment......was a little too premature.

I'm curious, does the state or federal government buy out property and or business owners for infrastructure? ie road improvements, dams, etc?
Anyone know? Please provide credible sources links...

Re: Big News
I went to Superlake this Saturday morning and asked a bag boy, who happened to be Poncho's son, what happened to Poncho. He answered that Poncho had a new job at a restaurant on the Libremento. I asked several other persons that I had gotten to kind-of sort-of know shopping over the years.
They all said everything is fine (I don't believe it) and that everything will remain the same. I walked through the store picking up some items and noticed some shelves missing items to sell, you know, no Tricots, no Diet decaffeinated coke, Etc. Upon leaving, I asked the lady who sat next to Poncho when he was there when they would get new stock. She said Monday.
Everyone was pretending that everything was fine and that nothing had changed.
Only time will tell what will happen. Somehow I think that everything will eventually come back to normal. I sure hope that the owner, Poncho's Uncle, asks Poncho to come back.
If not at least Poncho is involved in, or owner, or partial owner of a restaurant on the Librimento

Yes, my sentiments too, Pete. I'm hoping for a reconciliation too. It must be uncomfortable in the family right now.
Maybe he's at Fagon Charlote with Lori and Carlos.

That could be the name. It was a strange name that I had never heard of like the one you mentioned, Fagon Charlote.

Re: Big News
Update: Someone posted on TOB that she and her husband saw Pancho at the above mentioned Restaurant yesterday. So I guess what I heard and what Trailrunner suggested turned out to be correct.

El Fogon de Charlotte is great. Lots of variety and specials. Really nice people and great food.
I hope Pancho does well. He is a smart guy and he works very hard. I'll be supporting him in whatever he does.

I was there yesterday. Major reduction in Costco items especially paper products and cheeses. Look like there was no Costco order this week.

Maybe Pancho will open his own somewhere up the libremiento with ample parking. If I had money to invest I would be talking with him.

"being" unloaded, not beign.

Yeah, me too! His knowledge and connections are the best. Looks like several of the employees went with him.CanuckBob wrote:Maybe Pancho will open his own somewhere up the libremiento with ample parking. If I had money to invest I would be talking with him.
I suspect someone will offer him that, I'd like to see it, but unless SL fails it would be a bad investment. I don't think there is enough market here for two SLs. I don't think.
