"canje" confusion Empty "canje" confusion

Post by jackv Mon Jul 03, 2017 9:14 pm

When I crossed the border at Laredo 2 weeks ago, I followed the advice I'd read and been given: I wrote "canje" in box #8 of the FMM form. That threw the passport control person for a loop, baffling her to the point that she had to call in a supervisor. He required me to fill out a new FMM, putting the # from my visa sticker in box #8.

So... is this one of those "it depends" situations, or have the rules/procedures changed recently such that the "canje" thing is no longer valid?

Something got lost in translation. It's a "Menaje de Casa"

Did you mean your visa status? If so, you should have written 'Residente Temporal' or Residente Permanente'
