One time code on chip card
My bank said they would never go to chips but I just got an email saying they were sending one
Anyone having trouble using those here .... assuming they are not exclusive to my bank

Re: One time code on chip card
I have two US credit cards and one US debit card with chips. They work great on both sides and since their inception, I no longer have to do travel alerts on either.

It's the "one time code" every time you use it I'm wondering about. Never heard of that
Re: One time code on chip card
It requires nothing from you. The one time code is a security feature that the card uses for authentication.

When I use my chipped MasterCard I have to key in a pass code instead of a signature.

I'm asked for my code at first but was wondering if this "one time code" pops up on the screen and I have to use it. According to Rich I don't

Well don't forget it just in case. I'll be down there again in February so we can test your card at the bar again....jaja.

There are some banks that require a PIN, but mine does not.

Re: One time code on chip card
We’ve started rolling out our new Inspirus debit cards. You can expect to receive your new card within a few weeks.
Your card includes chip technology, so you’ll enjoy global acceptance plus an enhanced level of security!
How it works
Every time you use your card at a chip-activated terminal, the embedded chip generates a one-time use code. This code is virtually impossible to replicate and helps reduce in-store fraud.
How to activate
Simply follow the instructions on the sticker found on your new card. Once you activate your new card, please destroy your existing card for security reasons.
