Cholula Hot Sauce

What a pizzer. I went to WalMart, Sorianas, and El Torito looking to buy my favorite hot sauce that is made in Chapala. I was told at Tony's by my waiter that it is for export only and the sauce Chapala was the same thing in a different bottle. Wrong! Chapala hot sauce is the same as all the rest of the sauces, pure chilis de arbol. Cholula has chilis piquines and that is what sets it apart from the rest in taste and in heat.

I have not tried Super Lake, I hate the parking with my land yacht, so does anyone know where to buy it? The factory is Sane, do they have an outlet store?

Go to the plant/warehouse up on the carretera leaving Chapala on the north side......maybe?

Is that the sauce with a round wood ball for a lid??

If you are into really hot sauce I make my own out of homegrown Indian Ghost, Trinidad Scorpion and Carolina Reaper peppers. I could hook you up........

Now I am positive I have seen this sauce here (the one with the wooden top) somewhere. They even have Cholula restaurants. I know of one on the way to the airport and one in Tequila.

I found a picture of that sauce on the table in the restaurant so it must be available somewhere.

I did a TinEye crawl on that image and got no source, but it is obviously at one of their "Fondas", i.e. restaurants.

I'm sure I have seen it in Walmart. Maybe they were just out of stock.

I looked several times and I even checked the tags at the bottom of the shelf spaces for where it would go if they were out of stock.

I just stopped by Super Lake and bought you a 150ml for 28 pesos. They also have a large selection of other salsa picantes. So come and get it.

Wow great fix to the problem oncesubtle!   I need to find a new pickup truck can you help me and pick one up????  :-) The resturant Bob mentioned was very good that I ate at in Tequila. Very unusual menu if I remember correctly.

RichD google it. Think it shows on google maps. Saw it there. They'll do a private label for you but you'd probably need to order a lot.

Google shows the factory, not a retail outlet.

Coming down after Christmas from Chicago, will bring an extra bottle! No remarks about bring coal to Newcastle!

Cholulo is everywhere in Texas. I just bought a bottle for $1.99 U.S.D. We are buy the giant bottles of Valentino hot sauce it's $ 2.38 .
It's everywhere too.

When y'all do come grab extra for convenience .All HEB, Walmrt and any family owned Mexican Mercado carries it.

Right now we're waitin on Buena Noche Cerveza. Please Tell Santa to hurry it up will ya!!! I was at the Specs and he said he's ordered a bunch but .... :(

Should have added disclaimer to the "crap is" statement! People's taste in women, wine, and hot sauce is relative! I like Valentina if there is no Colula! pica más from Guatemala, and various Ajii sauces fro Ecuador are also good
