Re: Hurricane Blanca
I'm in Seattle Sparks and appreciate the post. Just maybe the storm will come far enough East to hit Lake Chapala with an inch or 2 (not all at once but) over a day or three

Re: Hurricane Blanca
Rather than wander out to sea, Blanca is projected to stay close to the coast and make landfall around Cabo San Lucas. We should get a pretty good soaking from the outer bands...perhaps a real gale wind as well.

Re: Hurricane Blanca
Dropped to a Cat 2 and may get back to a 3. We have a good cloud cover and some wind this afternoon
Re: Hurricane Blanca
The stars are out and there is no wind.

Re: Hurricane Blanca
No stars in Ajijic at the moment that I can see. Felt humidity this afternoon and there was plenty of cloud cover…. thought something might happen, but nada so far. Almost zero wind right now.

Partially cloudy and no wind. Ocean swell is small. No drama yet.

So how'd it go? The coast got a moderate swell, no rain to speak of and little wind.

Re: Hurricane Blanca
What coast are you on? Waves were/are huge washing into the streets in La Manz, lots a banana down and weaker trees on power lines and we had a good rain this morning

I am in Barra de Navidad. What time was the "good" rain? I was up at 6:30 and the streets here were dry. My yard needs watered. There has been very little wind and the surf, while bigger than normal, is far from "huge". "La Manz" aka la Manzanilla, has a very flat beach, it doesn't take much for the waves to run on into the street.

Re: Hurricane Blanca
I only had my Iphone yesterday in Melaque but the waves were trying to break half way out the bay
Re: Hurricane Blanca
This is from the runoff from my roof in street in front (at 3:30pm)
As usual when we have our first GOOD RAIN we loose a transformer ..... and power was out today from 9am to 2pm
I'm not gonna go take fotos of bananas, trees, and power lines down

Re: Hurricane Blanca
From 9 until 2? I uploaded those pics between 9 and 10. I guess my internet and computer don't need power to function. The sun was out all day. No wind. No rain. No drama.
Left gor Manzanillo at 2. Didn't see a tree down nor any damage to the bananas along the route past Cihuatlan. Must live in a different world. Mine's called reality.

Re: Hurricane Blanca
I guess it isn't possible for Barra to have power when Melaque (on Sparks street) doesn't.............geeeesh.

Oh it is possible. But not high winds that knock down trees and destroy banana plants.

Well I took the pics I posted right around the time sparks lost power. As you can see, the palm fronds are swept backward away from the ocean by the powerful wind coming off the ocean and I just can't figure out why the spray from the waves breaking in the other picture is heading back towards the ocean instead of the beach.
