Nationalizing a Canadian Licensed Vehicle Empty Nationalizing a Canadian Licensed Vehicle

Post by SunFan Sun Dec 07, 2014 10:41 am

I plan to nationalize an Ontario plated 2008 NAFTA car personally, but using the services of an "agent" at the border to prefill paperwork and applications and escort me through the bureaucracy.

This seems to be a continuously evolving subject so I thought I would get the latest experience.

Does the car owner need a Mexican drivers license?
Which border crossings can nationalize vehicles?
Can someone recommend an "agent"?

Can someone who has recently nationalized a car themselves PM me with their experience??

TIA

Unless the process for nationalizing a Canadian vehicle is much simpler and more stable than nationalizing a U.S. vehicle, I would suggest that you instead flush pesos down the toilet while banging your head on the tank and setting your hair on fire. It seems that would be less painful, frustrating and more cost effective. Very Happy
