Do I need new directions?
A while ago I asked about the place in Guadalajara where there are several blocks of auto tire/wheel places; I got the directions (thought I can't find them now) then someone said to take the bus and it is just a block from that place. Sounded good and I was ready to go today (though I hate driving in rain) and I read the bus station has relocated.
Can anyone update me?
Also, I need a drum for an old VW Bug; any ideas for someplace local?
Thanks.

Call Alan at 331 176 9733. His dad has a VW wrecking yard in upper Riberas.
Re: Do I need new directions?
The old Central bus station has been there for years. I doubt it has moved. Take the Chapala bus and walk from there first time

The bus station is still there and if you take the bus you won't be doing the driving,Clueless.Clueless wrote:A while ago I asked about the place in Guadalajara where there are several blocks of auto tire/wheel places; I got the directions (thought I can't find them now) then someone said to take the bus and it is just a block from that place. Exit out of the front of the bus station and turn to your right. Walk up one block up to Los Angeles street and turn right again. All along the street both sides are lots of tire & rim dealers.

Ezzie gave good directions. Just make a list of everything you need and try to translate it to Spanish. On the street are guys with motor scooters, who will ask what you are looking for. They will know where to find it and will lead you to it. The area is large, but they have an efficient operation for used or new parts. People have even been sure that they bought replacement parts which were just stolen from their own car the day before.

Re: Do I need new directions?
When I went there to replace my stolen tailgate the first guy who approached me asked what color I wanted,I told him silver and added that I didn't care if it was the same one that was stolen from me,he replied that it had probably already been sold but that he had a black and a red one in stock and that he had a friend around the corner who would weld a collar on the hinge so that it wouldn't be stolen again,we made a deal and he even threw in some anti-theft protectors for my sideview mirrors...

I made the contact and went to the father's house in Riberas. Lots of VWs. but I think he rebuilds them, etc.
He didn't have the parts I need (brake drum and rim for old VW Bug).
I guess I'm stuck with Guadalajara.
I'm wondering how difficult it would be to bring the items back by bus. Together the two will weigh up pretty well and I don't know about carrying them several blocks back to the bus, and that's assuming I can bring them on the bus.
Adapt and move on.
