Re: Templarios
A judge has ruled that Mr. Mireles, along with the three bodyguards arrested with him, will remain locked up while the legal process against them for possession of illegal firearms continues. That process can take anywhere from one to three years. From Sinembargo...

The article also points out that there have been no charges on possession of the drugs that were supposedly found in his vehicle. Doesn't the government have to press charges within 72 hours of arrst? If I understand the drug laws properly, they are classified under "delitos contra la salud" and people held on these charges do not have the right to post bail. It is very interesting that the main federal representative in charge of security in Michoacan, publicly declared that they had found these drugs in the vehicle. Were there drugs found? If so, why no charges? Or is this Castillo character lying? If so, what does that tell us about the rest of this arrest issue?

Did they shave the bodyguard's heads too?Smartalex wrote:A judge has ruled that Mr. Mireles, along with the three bodyguards arrested with him, will remain locked up while the legal process against them for possession of illegal firearms continues.
I'm not sure I agree with your assessment that head shaving is standard procedure for prisoners, have you looked into that?

Re: Templarios
Aw come on...Mireles is in a maximum-security prison; the bodyguards are somewhere else. Different prisons have different rules. In general, the higher the level of security, the tighter the regulations on haircuts. New prisoners are generally clean-shaven. Later, they can bribe the barber for a better cut. Just google "prison haircut" and see what you find. This is nothing unusual at all.

Re: Templarios
i see no pictures of el chapo's head shaved nor hooded after arrest. he was put in the highest security prison in this country and are you suggesting he wasn't an important arrest?
i googled "prison haircut" as you suggested and there was no hits for mexican prisons of any sort. who knows there might be now though re:doctor mireles-eh!

I find that statement hard to believe and frankly somewhat laughable, are you just making this stuff up,can you site a source for this haircut regulation?Smartalex wrote: In general, the higher the level of security, the tighter the regulations on haircuts.
BTW,I have very little regard for Mireles, but I have even less for EPN and his gang.

Amongst the money men....the greater the haircut, the greater the risk (of escape??)
Sounds like they think someone is coming for the prisoner.

I'll tell you what. Mireles' attorney says she is going to file a complaint with the Mexican Human Rights Commission on his behalf. Let's see what rights she claims have been violated. Let's see the results of their investigation. If the Human Rights Commission says Mireles' rights were violated due to this stupid haircut, then I will accept their judgment and change my opinion accordingly.

On the bright side,he does look younger after the shave and a haircut is infinitely preferrable to the chicharra treatment or a Tehuacanazo or an ahogadito, etc.,all common forms of torture used by some Mexican law enforcement and military officials.

So it sounds to me like the National Commission on Human Rights has told the local guy in Sonora to mind his own business when it comes to the Mireles case. Hopefully, he won't be participating in any more ill-dignified and counter-productive publicity stunts organized by Mireles' political supporters.
Here's another little snippet from the news...
Ayer la Comisión Estatal de Derechos Humanos (CEDH) informó que no detectaron signos de tortura en contra de José Manuel Mireles.

Re: Templarios
why show a video produced in the usa that is totally irrelevant to the topic at hand. it has nothing to do with the fact that doctor mireles was treated diferntly than other prisoners here in MEXICO and there is a strong case developing that his human rights were violated and not just the shaving. i repeat, on your sage advice i googled "prison haircuts" and found nothing about mexico as was obviously the case with you as well, since you took it upon yourself to post the above united states video.

Re: Templarios
I was wondering if we were going to hear from Mireles' vigilante buddies Hipolito Mora and Papa Smurf. Well, Mora has finally had his say...and it ain't all that kind to Mr. Mireles. From El Universal...
Mireles made a mistake: Mora
The founder of the self-defense groups said that
José Manuel Mireles voted in favor of the disarmament
agreement, which he did not respect.

sorry, but nowhere in any way shape or form in english, spanish or any other language does it say that in any media link you have posted nor in anything that i have read. you have made it quite clear on where you stand as far as DOCTOR mireles is concerned. if you choose to insult the man at least base your comments on what was actually written-gracias.
doctor mireles never agreed to disarm as mora stated. mora got out of jail on HIS trumped up arrest and no charges because he promised castillo he would be a good boy from now on.

Re: Templarios
The federal police and MPs who were being held prisoner in Buenavista have been freed following the federal government's assurance that 32 Autodefensas who have been held in preventive detention since March of 2013 will be released from custody. A total of 34 Autodefensas were arrested at that time after invading city hall in La Ruana and detaining a number of public officials and municipal police. Two of the Autodefensas will remain in custody since they have been charged with kidnapping. The rest were being held on weapons charges. This group of Autodefensas is unrelated to those who were arrested along with Mr. Mireles in La Mira, as reported earlier. From SDPnoticias...

why? he is a DOCTOR, so that's why i call him DOCTOR MIRELES and there is no question about that whatsoever. if someone chooses to insult him by calling him mister that's their perogative. i have never seen him called mister anywhere else but on this thread.
