Costco Pizza Oven
Costco Pizza Oven
Disclaimer: I have no idea if Costco Mexico has these. I also realize that purists would prefer a wood fired masonry pizza oven.
But if one is looking for an alternative pizza oven, Costco NOB was selling a stainless steel propane pizza oven under the Grand Cafe label. The unit measures 24" x 24" and has two cooking racks which can handle 18" pizzas. One 18" pizza pan comes with the unit:

After doing a "burn off" of the new unit, I determined that the max temp was 500 degrees and we decided to use our well used 15" ceramic pizza stone:

Last Sunday, we tried our first pizza in the oven and declared the experiment an 85% success. 7 minutes and it may have been a bit well done but certainly better than many we can find in restaurants here!
When Costco first put them in our local stores, they were priced at $399.99 and then they really tempted us when they lowered the price to $199.99. About a month ago, I happened to be wandering through our closest store and they had just lowered the price to $99.97. I couldn't pass it up and bought one. How could I go wrong?
Far better than cooking a pizza in our conventional electric oven and I would definitely recommend purchasing one should you see it at a Costco store near you! We also plan to try it for baking bread.
