Where does Guad water drain to?

What area does all of the water in Guadalajara drain to?

The Pacific Ocean via the Rio Grande de Santiago.

IMO...it was a tavesty that the Presa de Arcediano project was halted because of a few hundred protesters that lived within the confines of the project to the detriment of millions of Tapatios....and indirectly, the inhabitants and visitors of the Lake Chapala area.

Not only that but there are a couple of other serious issues with the location on the Rio Santiago that was being considered for this dam project. The river is heavily polluted in that area due to (probably) run off from the city as well as in the Huentitan Basin, there is a geological fault that has been known for decades and that would increase the cost of the foundations of the curtain.

But what is water worth to the water deprived?....of course, there is always Lago de Chapala.

Speaking of water, I heard this morning that they are opening the dams up river as all the fields are flooded out. Hopefully that gives the lake a big hit.

Better be ready to move the boat closer to shore.......

From our terreza on the south shore, we are watching tons of lirio floating past.

That means they have indeed opened the dams!!!!!!!!!!! Yahooooooo!

The lake surely looks much higher today.

It will fill quickly if they leave the dams open for a few days. I had read that they could almost fill the lake to capacity in two weeks if they left the dams open that long. Fingers crossed.

I wonder if those wishing for a rapid rise in the lake level are even aware of the massive flooding and devastation that is happening throughout the country? Nary a mention has been made on this board of the suffering the torrential rains of the past few days have caused for many thousands of this country's inhabitants, most of whom can ill afford it.

We have been wishing for rain but out of consideration of others we have not used our super powers to make it happen...and it sure not our fault that the gummint won't open the dam until people have water in their living room.

And you obviously don't know anything about the lake or the area around the lake that feeds water. The dams opening up are a good thing for folks
around here. Yes much damage in many areas of Mexico but here the dams opening up here are a normal part of the weather cycle and have little
to do with the rest of Mexico and the problems from the two storms.
