What do do in Guad?
Friend made reservations for 4 nights rather than 3 and I had planned on one day on Tonala and one in Centro and beyond that don't have a clue. Will be staying in Tonala with car but don't want to be driving more than necessary.
Been to Tlaquepaque and if not changed in 3 years not very interested

Re: What do do in Guad?
Excuse me but I beg to differ on Tlaquepaque never changing! In the 15 years since we first started going there, it has changed a great deal. We spent a week staying there in January of 2012 and again this past February. There is a constant opening and closing of shops and it seems the number of restaurant options constantly increases.
As for what suggestions, you might take a look at the Tapatio Tour bus: http://www.insidelakeside.com/t7531-tapatio-tours
The price is right, so much so that one sees plenty of local Mexicans taking advantage. With the on/off aspect, you can get all over the city.

Tlaquepaque is a great place to go and spend the day and eat at one of the restaurants. Ask cheenagringo about it.

No matter how old Tonala, Tlaquepaque, or Mercado Libertad seem to me, new visitors always love them.

I totally agree with the Zoo. I have been there 3 times and still haven't seen everything. It's one of the best I have ever been too.
A day at Mercado Libretad is always fun too.

Hang out by the fence and the Lobos will come check you out. Obviously the
big crow by the birds was a pet at some time. Talk to him and he will come
over and hang with you but I really like birds.

Sometime in the last week, I read where they have implemented a new trolley car or something similar to assist people in moving around the zoo.

Apparently the article I read had an inaccuracy (maybe the translation?), from the GUADALAJARA REPORTER:

The Guadalajara Zoo will inaugurate a cable car offering visitors views from above the enclosures on Thursday, March 21.
For 36 pesos, the public will be able to ride for 27 minutes, gazing down on the zoo’s many inhabitants from a height of 10 to 16 meters and enjoying spectacular views of the Huentitan canyon.

Why don't you track down and have a cup of coffee with Maria Jose Cristerna in Guadalajara? Lawyer, mother of 4 kids, womens advocate among other things. Now THAT would be interesting. Be sure to bring your camera too.

Does anyone know if Mercado Libretad will be open during the holiday tomorrow?
Re: What do do in Guad?
I would be surprised if San Juan de Dios/Mercado Libertad was closed for the holiday tomorrow.
