Please let these people be OK. Charlie must have an angel watching over him for all the good work he does for Cruz Roja. Sending positive vibes.

Is the car wash guy OK? No one seems too concerned about him.

And the car wash guy, is he stable too? He is always such a gentleman and helps my hubby get in and out of the car.

Re: accident across from delicias
he has upper body injuries and in pain but seems ok. i know him well and it seems like he has more lives than a cat.
last time he got hurt,he fell out of a tree he was trimming for a friend and broke his leg and a rib. couldn't work for 6 weeks. so he's going to need money to eat and maybe somebody to pay for his x-rays and treatment at cruz.
why don't you step forward, bob bender!

I'm sure we are concerned....how not to be?
A remark that was a little crass, when Pedro only posted it at 12:27 pm.
It's like the victims of any disaster or accident...people usually focus on the ones they know...not that they don't care or are not concerned about the others.

In what way shall I step forward? I am currently living near Manzanillo. Isn't treatment at the Cruz Rojo free to those who don't have the means to pay?

I apologize. All previous posts contained no mention of this poor soul. Friends?

Re: accident across from delicias
Late this morning, Sunday June 2nd. Charlie and a Mexican man were hit by a drunk driver, while driver was on his cell phone and swerving back and forth while trying to cross the street. The driver fled the scene, but the police caught him and he is now in jail!
Both Charlie and the Mexican man were taken to Cruz Roja (Dr. Sam on duty). The Mexican man is less seriously injured. Charlie has a broken pelvis in 2 places, a deep gash and severe head concussion and other minor scrapes. Dr. Sam was unable to see any internal bleeding in the head impact area, but an MRI in Guadalajara will tell what is occurring in greater detail. When I was there he was semi conscious and they were preparing the paper work and stabilizing him for immediate transport to a private hospital in Guadalajara where a trauma team is waiting as well as his regular doctor.
Ann is with him and will follow in her car. Personally don't believe the gravity of the situation has hit her yet. I mentioned to both of them that many at lakeside will be praying for them.
Above is all I know until I hear from Ann later this pm. We may need blood donors and I will let you know.

Re: accident across from delicias
Just talked with Ann.
VERY good news. No swelling in major head bump, but close observation for a couple of days. Double pelvis break did not knock things out of line so NO surgery is planned. He needs a replacement pint of A+ to be drawn at San Javier in his name tomorrow. (Ann took his phone away from him----wise decision on her part)
If you can do it, please email me pifernr@gmail.com Based on general response, will have more than he needs, so will take first reply and advise others if not needed.
Kassiers are headed to Guadalajara to pick up Ann and return her to lakeside. Charlie's car is off the street.
Young Mexican who was injured (bumps and bruises) may need a little financial help so if you would like to, place a few pesos in envelope indicating "Injured Mexican 6/2/2013" and drop off at Cruz Roja LCS table or Chapala clinic and we will get it to him.
Thanks,
Norm Pifer

Re: accident across from delicias
The info is in Julie Hensley's post immediately above Pedro's.
You can drop off an envelope to Cruz Roja table at the LCS or at Cruz Roja (Clinic) and label it "Injured Mexican 6/2/13". His name is Manuel if you want to add that too.
Anyone know what time Cruz Roja table is open for business at LCS...
