Yep and this scares me. Do we still have the money and guts to do stuff like this anymore? The ISS was an amazing international project. Can we do it
again? Can we do another upgrade to Hubble? Do we even care about space? My wife doesn't get space and thinks we should work on earth with the
money. I want to go set up perm. stuff on the moon or go to mars. Yes I have no idea how to pay for it.

What do you think??
Is my wife right and all this is a huge waste of money or should we continue to move on. (Hey maybe I watch too much star trek crapola LOL)

For the long range survival of the human race another planet will be necessary. This one won't last forever.

The space program is one of the best things ever done by the USA. There have been many dirivitives and spin-off technologies from the investment that began during the Kennedy administration. Consider which made you feel more proud to be an American; going to the moon or going to Iraq. BTW, it was cheaper to go to the moon. It will cost less to go to Mars than to go to Syria IMHO.

I am not so sure it is a good idea to save the human race. We probably follow in a long line of extinct species who blew their opportunities because they were too self-centered. And remember Clark Kent was not doing all that well on another planet--no one paid much attention except Lois.
