Volkswagen hasn't introduced the ultra-luxury brands Lamborghini and Bugatti in Mexico (which may only be bought through specialist car dealers in major cities), however Audi and Bentley are having good sales numbers in Mexico.

Audis are very popular amongst Mexican youths and business people. The most successful models are the A4 and the A3 Sportback.

Thanks for any help you can give me. And I sure don't expect exact figures, but any idea would help. (And, yes, i've done quite a bit of reading and searching online, but i'm currently undergoing daily radiation in Guad and the 3-1/2 to 4-hour round trip drive and treatment cuts into my time and, frankly, i'm exhausted when i get home. Yes, admittedly playing the "poor little me" card!) All I can promise is that when i get this stuff done, i'll keep you posted on how it went if you're interested!

Well done George! Not only for your successful taming of the cancer but, in doing so, for also pointing out what is really important in life.
They're CARS people. They get you from point A to point B, come in various shapes, colours, conditions and costs. They are not that important in the big picture.

Yeah, and the same people who are bitching the loudest I guarantee you are proponents of ''American Exceptionalism''. Guys like Mainecoons and Steve from Nebraska are always proclaiming their status of self-made men, and then when they get a lazy curveball thrown inside and tight, their knees buckle and they're bailing out. What a joke.

Fuck all of this. Mexico is offering a permanent status for about $500 US, and all you have to do is drive a MX plated car. No more renewals, no more hassle. To me, it's a gift.

EXACTLY. Some people are getting lost in the weeds.

I am purposefully trying to attain Permanente status right now, earlier than necessary, even though it means I'll have to jettison a perfectly functional and wonderful foreign-plated car that brung me to the dance and has a lot of miles left in it. I could have bought a couple more "car years" by getting a Temporal visa, but decided to quit letting the car tail wag the dog.

I decided it made more sense for me to try to grab the Permanente status early in case the rules/requirements change in the next few years. Since the old foreign-plated car I refer to isn't worth very much, and my life in Mexico is worth everything, it was an easy call once I sifted through the details.

It's a matter of running the numbers and the pros and cons based on your current position, needs and wants. Which, of course, is exactly what this thread is about.
