Re: Farmed Salmon vs. Wild
I bought a fresh one from him last week and we had some for dinner that night and froze the rest. We thawed it yesterday so I could smoke it today. There was some of that light colored liquid after it thawed. It's in the smoker now!

With a statement like that, in view of all the salmon lovers on this board, you are undoubtedly "one of the 25".

Re: Farmed Salmon vs. Wild
No matter which forum you inspect, there is a fairly small number of posters who are willing to put their mouse where their opinions are, on a regular basis.
"Fear of Being Proved Wrong" is a factor. On this forum, the sheer nastiness factor keeps many from posting.
The negativity on the other board is about the same, but couched in more.....uh....careful language.
The "gang of 25" serves to provide entertainment to the hundreds of lurkers. Normal.

Because of the ages of some of the members, the turn over should be rather fast, and you are first in the queue.

I never had so many laughs reading about salmon in my life.

Salmon Flesh (Eating) - After They Change Colour
"A word of advise, if you are entertaining people with a salmon dinner, and you are only able to catch pink or chum or white spring, make sure it is absolutely chrome. These salmon species if kept when past their best have been known to permanently turn people off from eating salmon."
