Anything happen last night?

So the town crier is going up and down the street selling newspapers and that only happens if something criminal and noteworthy happened the day before. What happened now?

I haven't heard anything new, but yesterday on the carretera just west of SJC there were several cop cars with binoculars monitoring up high in the cerro. About 2 hours later when I passed again there was only 1, but still had binoculars trained up in the cerro. This was mid day.

Used news. More Chapala cops were arrested for kidnapping, attempted murder and involvement with the New Generation cartel. That's a total of six...so far.

i bought it this morning. it's the pics of the 6 cops that were arrested for helping the narcos in various nefarious deeds including that kidnapping on the weekend. so nothing really new.

I heard the town crier this morning, bright and early around 7:15am. I was trying to hear what he was saying, but he kept shouting it in the opposite direction, but I figured Pedro would tell us.

the one in the middle on the bottom is/was a comandante.

Yes, something major happend. Pending forensics results, I cannot say yet, but it was very sad.

One of them had prior convictions for kidnapping,how the hell did he get hired as a cop?

I think that answer my question..we are..Can you imagine coming up to an intersection one night and seeing that scene? You just would have to pinch yourself...

When I was working in East LA. one day coming out of the warehouse and driving down a street, the traffic stopped right in front of some guy whose arm was so cut up, it looked like hamburger meat , blood everywhere. The guy was standing there probably in schock and a few whores were a few steps further not even looking at the scene, I thought they were shooting a movie, the whole thing was totally unreal......I can imagine being in Uruapan and coming upon that scene, I probably would think I was hallucinating ..yep you are it is the twighlight zone.

I see pictures of 6 men, not the entire Mexican police force.

Doc,good luck trying to defend the competence and integrity of Mexican law enforcement,all you have to do is read the national news,or even better, ask the average Mexican how they view the police to get the true picture.
You'd have to be very naive to have much faith in Mexican law enforcement IMO.

You should trust me on this, even though I know you will not. The problem is not knowing who you can actually trust, and that is where the compromise in integrity happens.

That's kinda vague,could you elaborate a little?

For those of us that come from communities NOB, when cops are caught dirty or do something that breaks the law, upon conviction they go to some sort of confinement program which keeps them separate from the criminal population that was theoretically their targets. If these Chapala cops were in fact loyal to one of the cartels, would it be that they would be treated in high regard in prison and not have a need to be segregated?

What did they find or did'nt there?
