Or car-bum, or car-leech? (Thank Heavens the Dear Husband DOES have a car. And I walk or bus a lot. And probably will NEVER dare to ask for a ride again!)

I like CARBUM. Not gender specific, though I've known a few male "sluts" in my time, too. LOL.

You Anglocentrics have such a handicap for language. The word you're looking for is...

Schnorrer: begger; moocher; sponger; parasite; freeloader. a begger, a moocher; a beggar who makes pretensions to respectability.

Granted, that language is far more colorful. And you can't really beat "putz" to describe some people.

Schnorrer is outstanding, but I'm afraid I need an accompanying sound file to get it right. Very Happy

I can roll my Spanish rr's decently, but I have a hunch there's more throat involved with "Schnorrer". Trying to pronounce that ferkakte word makes me ferklempt.

And in defense of the language of Shakespeare, CarSponge might have worked. Or even just "user".

Nope. Still not as good as Schnorrer.

I though the Schnorrer was the person the Schnorree had to listen to at night.

in spanish you use the tongue behind the teeth i believe; german and yiddish it's in the back of the throat to roll r's.

yes kippy I should have known better. Don´t you love the people who always respond to your remark by implicating your husband like if you were tied to the hip? Tells you a lot about that person´s mental capacity, doesn´t it.
