CFE Bill
I lost my original CFE bill so printed a copy from the on-line service. The copy doesn't have the bar-code so I can't pay at the usual retailers. Is there a CFE office in Ajijic?
Re: CFE Bill
I believe you can take an old bill in and scan it. It should say what you owe for this billing time.

The only office I know of is in Chapala, a couple blocks from Soriano's.

I think the only office is in Chapala. I get my bills online, no barcode, and usually pay at the machines outside the Chapala office. You just type in your account number.

In chapala the road that veers right by the Pemex station is the only CFE office that I am aware of. The road is about even with the pumps and angles to the right. Appro 3 blocks down is the CFE office on the right side of the road. Never found an office in Ajijic.

Directions are correct. That street to the right of Pemex goes off at a slight angle. I believe they close at 2:00 PM. There is no CFE office in Ajijic. Pay before the due date or you'll have the electric shut off and have to pay a reconnection fee.

CFE in Chapala is the only office I know of besides the on in Jocotopec. In Jocotopec you go to the plaza where the church is on the left and make a left at the dead end. Go approximately 3 blocks to the sign that says Guadalajara to the right. On the far right corner is the CFE office. The Chapala office is a little difficult to find the first time. And ask them how you are supposed to get your bill. Each community is different. I get mine at a little aborote on the carraterra in San Juan Cosala or I have to go to Jocotopec.

If you have a Bancomer acct you can pay online.

Mission accomplished. Thanks for the tip on this machine.
Re: CFE Bill
This is how we pay, since they often don't deliver it AT ALL:
We get the online copy without the bar code, and if it is at least three days before the due date, we schlepp it down to the Bancomer across the Plaza in Ajijc where they will take it without a bar code. We don't have an account at Bancomer.
If it's over the three days, we take the trip to Chapala and stand in line. If you're not lucky, some guy with 50 rentals will be in the line ahead of you.
This definitely should work. We've been doing it for years.

Re: CFE Bill
CFE no longer has a caja manned by a person at the Chapala office and you must pay at the machine there. (starting in feb.).
Be sure to take some small bills for the machine, as there is a limit on giving change.
Paying on line with a credit card is still the easiest, time wise.

Credit card payment sounds good and we tried it. Doesn't work with a US credit card. Or at least it didn't some months ago.

You could and are probably right as I don't have a US credit card. I pay with Banamex Visa.

Re: CFE Bill
We have a Banamex USA Mastercard, so maybe that makes a difference. In any case, we aren't too eager to use it since we've been hacked on both our cards more than once in the last six months.....both times trying to import stuff from the U.S through a well known importer. I have a limited use for 40 pairs of Crocs or the "Lovestuff" lingerie company to the tune of 600 and 700 bucks U.S.
We're looking for a new importer, things being as suspicious as they are. LOL
The bank has been good about it........but it takes three weeks to get a new card sent here. AAArgh.

Our CFE & TeleMex are Direct Debited from our Bancomer Accounts...

Re: CFE Bill
CFE will not accept a non-Mexican credit or debit card for onliine payments or direct debit from a non-Mexican bank account. You can call Telmex and set up payments on a NOB card.
