You should be able to check the bill online (need to setup an account first time...) then you can either download the latest .pdf, print it and pay at somewhere like Oxxo, Walmart, etc or pay online with a credit/debit card (I think it needs to be a Mexican card though...)

https://app.cfe.gob.mx/Aplicaciones/CCFE/Recibos/Consulta/login.aspx

Power outages or street light outages can be reported from the homepage and there's all sorts of other data available.

It translates well into English using Google Chrome.

I talked to a lot of my SA Mexican friends this morning, none had received their bills and one asked me if I had water! Heh, it was a great Mexican morning.

Ultimately, I ended up in Chapala CFE and let the very nice young man pay my bill for me with the machine for a propino. EZPZ

I generally get mine emailed to me every two months. Why they may miss a billing period is a mystery to me.

It all depends upon where you live. They do not read all the meters in one or two days. Mine recently changed from once per month to every other month and the reading takes place on about the 19th to 21st of this month in upper West Ajijic. And I will be able to check it on line, usually within a day or two of the reading.

The bill usually comes a day or two later.

We can't seem to find our amount due on our CFE account on line. They have changed the format. Where do you find the amount due now?

After 3 years of frozen electricity tariffs has everyone noticed a small increase to each of the tariff bands every billing period all this year? Yeah, I know, some of you solar guys pay virtually nothing...

Good point, Cincy.  We have two CFE meters at our residence in Ajijic.  One monitors the home and one monitors the swimming pool only. This two meter system reflects the landlord tenant relationship of some past owner.  About 4 years ago we installed solar panels for the home but not the swimming pool. The swimming pool meter simply reflects  the energy used to run the pool pump.   We did this because our CFE bill was through the roof in total and costing us a fortune.  Our most recent two month bill for the home was the equivalent of $2USD and the pool bill was the equivalent of  $11USD. The home bill used to be well over the equivalent of $150USD in total for a like period so we are saving well over $100USD a month in electrical costs no matter how the savings is measured year around and we have become greenfreaks inadvertently We have not installed solar in San Cristobal de Las Casas
because we do not think the high mountain climate with Gulf overcast features warrants the expense
.
