Yes. It is her option, not yours.
Rolly, do we pay or is it deducted from her/his pay? (We become the filciator?) Because otherwise why would anyone ever decide to refuse? This doesn’t make much sense to me unless they have some preexisting condition and already have IMSS. Could they fear of not being hired if they asked for coverage?

MC:
Once again, you come over here for a "hit n'run". After what you just pulled on TOB where you allowed yourself to make political comment and then came down on people as Moderator2 - it is very obvious what your agenda is and the powers that be allow you to do so. What a crock!

It's the old Jekyl and Hyde trick. What a sleaze. You should be ashamed of yourself MC. On the other hand, we should pass on the bait this troll throws out to get his jollies. Bugger off!

Go check out Rolly's page on this type of info. He writes very clearly and it is worth a visit.
I offered it to my maid and she declined so I am off the hook. You want to avoid doing the
employer side of IMSS if you can. It generally involves mucha paper work.

Have many times but the questions I pose were not answered or at least I didn’t find them. Did you ask and get their response to the question about IMSS in writing?
In the beginning when we asked our housekeeper she said she already had IMSS however things have changed for her because her husband lost his job and because of age she has limited her work schedule, although they do have Segro Popular (sp?). She has never asked for any kind of help in this area although we did, all her employers, got together and paid for her dentistry and new teeth.
I’m thinking this may be a can-of-worms I really don’t want to open. Any input?

Re: EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION
It is a can of worms Parker.
If she has Seguro Popular, she cannot have IMSS too. Ask for her card and make a copy of it...also write up something that says that she declines IMSS and has Seguro Popular and have her date and sign it.
....or do nothing and, maybe, nothing will hit the fan.
