Re: Another accident
Actually, before the repaving there were some fairly stiff concrete vibradores on the downhill side of the road as it approached the Carretera. I guess someone wouldn't know this if they live in Guadalajara, right Viajero?
In a country where speed limits, stop signs, warning signs and traffic lights are pretty much ignored there aren't a lot of alternatives, eh? Imagine what would have happened if that tanker had exploded in that location or the dump truck had gone right across the intersection and plowed a few folks under.
I don't like 'em either but they sure beat big accidents with fatalities IMO.

I bet those talapia that will be released into Lake Chapala might not like it...seriously how many of you will buy local fresh Lake Chapala talapia ? Will you go that far to support your local fishermen so they can better themselves?

Here's the story on that wreck, including a photo which I would post if I could figure out how...Only in Mexico

Of course, I'd buy the tilapia! The fish in the lake, last year, were found to have much less than US standards of heavy metals in their flesh (less than the canned tuna you eat). Their livers, and other organs that concentrate the heavy metals, are what's making the pelicans here have genetic problems. They are fed the guts and bones exclusively at Petetan, not the flesh of the fish.

Re: Another accident
Did anyone notice that they took the BIG metal topes out in west Ajijic. I figure some dignitary went over a big one and spilled his coffee on himself and out they came!
