Pinche gabron
No literal translation. Originally a pinche was someone who worked in a kitchen, has come to be a derogatory term. Gabron, asshole.

Re: Pinche gabron
the word is "cabron" and can mean something worse than asshole or cuckold.
pinche cabron pendejo is about as bad as ya kin get in name calling
on the other hand if yer with a group of buddies ya kin call each other this and laugh like hell.
never call a stranger this unless you want a severe beating.

Re: Pinche gabron
The gringo who's trying to teach us Mexican cuss words doesn't even know how to spell pinche cabron to begin with. Then he/she proceeds to not define it, except as, pretty bad. A poor excuse for a discussion, elucidation of the meanings of Mexican/Spanish-language cuss words, I must say. ¡Mierda!

I wanna believe this section of the board is meant for fun (like the crude joke section). I don't think this is a serious thread - at least I hope not. That said, I'd have to agree with you Toro, it is mierda.El Toro Furioso wrote:The gringo who's trying to teach us Mexican cuss words doesn't even know how to spell pinche cabron to begin with. Re: Pinche gabron
Pinche is still use in restaurant kitchens especially in Spain. In most places, a pinche is a low-level worker -- dish washes, janitor, etc. In my area a pinche is the sues chef.

There goes rolly again. Repeating something he read on another board as if he actually knew something.

Re: Pinche gabron
I certainly wasn't trying to make it "heavy." Pinche cabrón is usually transliterated as "fucking asshole." I seldom curse in English, for that matter, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it in Spanish unless you really know what you are saying (not the translation necessarily, but the level of offense associated with that profanity) and the person to whom you are leveling the comment. It is probably best to avoid any but the lightest cuss words, probably in both languages at least until you feel very comfortable with the people you are with and comfortable with your ability to quickly take back a comment that is misinterpreted (or that you said incorrectly but, at least from your point of view, was misinterpreted). ¡Qué le vaya bien!

and bob/admin,it would behoove you to spend more of your next tourist time in mexico with mexican chingons to learn more of the vernacular-eh!
wouldn't this board be better served with a forum for social and recreational events than you trying to learn mexican cuss words from ferners?

We got Solovino in here to teach us a few things. I spent my last trip down seeing as much as I could. Went to Tequila, Morelia, Paracho, Patzcuaro, Guayabitos, Sayulita, and Bucerias.
If you would like an area for recreational events just ask.

So please tell us all that you know about Patzcuaro since it is an area of interest to me.

Hey, we do already have an events section. It's under the top category. It's called Out & about Events around the Lake.

Patzcuaro is beautiful. It reminds me of the BC Interior Okanagan area. Lots of huge pine trees. A few nice lakes nearby. Looks like real cottage country. I only spend a few hours there but would like to spend a few days exploring the area. It was cold early in the morning. When we arrived at about 8:30am it was only 46 F. It warmed up pretty quick.

Since you apparently went as a tourist, can I expect equally comprehensive reports from the other places you visited? Maybe I should revise my travel plans to visit BC instead of Mexico? After all, I could save myself some grief because they probably speak English up there.

No they barely speak English up here. Your better off going to see Mexico. I also posted some pics of Morelia and Paracho under the Micheocan topic. Enjoy.

Since we are also giving spanish lessons here, it's mis amigos. I plead guilty to spelling cabron wrong. As to the translation that came from my Mexican wife that I've been married to for 38 years. Just think, if I had spelled it right this thread wouldn't have gotten this far.
