Yes DaveP, some of you are getting that fast service. But darn it, I and many of us are not one of those. Oh yes my $599 package gives me a reliable connection but usually using Speedtest.net I get
1.75 Mb/s down by aboout 0.30 up.

599 pesos plan telmex
5.05 down
.65 up
Lucky me!! Very reliable. VOIP works much better at .65 than .21 which is what I had last year.

Gosh, I don't know either. Normally there are three packets, the slowest at what is it $399, the in-between $599 and the fastest at $999. Then added to these charges are extra fees for a collect call, etc.
What ever you have, you are getting great speeds. I'm envious.

Re: Telecable Internet
Well I'll tell ya Pete, on the back of my bill, under header Planes y Paquetes is the line item: TELMEX TODO MEXICO SIN LIMITES 843.50MexicoPete wrote:RoofBob wrote:Telmex ;-) I don't know that 843.50 is the offical plan name but that's what they're chargin' me, got the bill right here.

We're delighted and since we are hopelessly addicted to the internet it's well worth the extra pesos.
I hope this helps because I feel your need, your need for speed. (guess movie title for extra points!)

Good to have you here Pete. For the few folks who don't know, Pete is a great technologist and I am sure he will add good info
to the site however we do wonder about his lifestyle. He can either be here, Seattle, or Canada. We also can use another
polite person on this site and Pete is very polite and he makes me a better person for his existance.

Re: Telecable Internet
I'm probably not playing it safe by posting under my real name, but it makes me pretend to be a nicer guy than I want to be when I make a post
If I had a second name, and it would be fun to get one, I could be a wise Ass, like I sometimes feel like being.
I remember maybe 5 to 10 years ago where there was this guy who had at least five user names, and boy would he and his fake friends hit back hard if you questioned him. Now with easy access to IP #s, it's much harder to do (not easy to get away with). Because a moderator could catch on real fast

Pete - We know you're a nice guy. How could you post under a different name when everyone knows your face? Why aren't you here instead of Vancouver or Vancouver Island?

Posting under my own name reminds me that there is no privacy on the web... something good to remember...

Re: Telecable Internet
Thank you John. It's that sometimes I don't wan't to be a good guy. I want to hide behind someone elses picture after having been put down really well (good) by someone else. And strike back. Some of the folks on line are really good at putting someone else down :) Which happens to (me) all of us more than we will admit.
Why am I up north? Relatives and free medical care. Nothing medically serious other than old age , just checkups Etc.

Pete,
Now you see that it's easy to hit 40 messages on this board.

Re: Telecable Internet
Don't feel alone Mexipete... when NoB I spend a lot of time living vicariously in Mexico too. It can help fill the void left by lack-a-Mex and no corner taco stands... the usual Mexico withdrawal symptoms.
The forum is a poor second to being there, it is true, but it sure helps.... nice to have you aboard. Lizzy
