Well heck, Sparks, it's looking more and more likely by Saturday from your link. Maybe those early rainbirds were right.

Re: Storm a comin'
I sure hope you're right, Sparks. We need, I want, etc plenty of rain this year. No, not all at once, but over safe period of time.
Right now as I look from the condo, 8 or 10 blocks from where you used to work, Sparks, it's already raining. So far no big deal (chinagringo) but give me two weeks more of it and I will be complaining again. :)
For those of you who don't know me, every year at this time I come north for a few weeks. At first I love the rainy weather in Seattle and on Vancouver Island, but after a few weeks of rain, I start complaining on the forums and get teased for doing it :)
Oh well, once it starts raining down their, I'm on my way back, it’s the most beautiful dime of the year down there.

Latest track predicts it will not come onshore.

In this morning's "discussion" of Bud, the meteorologists aren't sure which tracking model will prevail - could go southwest, could go northwest, could go ashore, could hover offshore. An Air Force Reserve hurricane hunter plane will be flying into Bud this afternoon to gather more information. Current projections are for 4 to 6 inches of rain along the coast, even if the center remains offshore.

The current tracking model on Wunderground would lead one to believe we'll be affected.

We’ve done everything suggested and now it’s up-to “Mother Nature”. “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.".

Actually, this could be a good opportunity to find any roof leaks and get them fixed before the real rainy season starts!

It looks like the storm will hit in the same area as last October's Jova which did extensive damage. There are still many without a roof in that area.

Typical self-centered egocentric point of view coonie. It looks like the storm will hit in the same area as last October's Jova which did extensive damage. There are still many without a roof in that area. What an asshole, dude.
The storm will hit us or not depending on mother nature. It has nothing to do with any of our wishes.
Looking for something good out of something bad is actually a positive things contrary to your negativism.
Have a nice day

If you can't post anything worthwhile, why post at all? Another typical Solovino post. I don't think he was referring to that area. This foul language doesn't belong in the Mirador section. Save it for Octagon where you can continue to look like a jerk.

Good chance to test our roofs, if the rain lasts long enough. If it's a short heavy downpour, it won't test the roofs. Needs to be steady.

How much of the Ocean Based Storms typically make it over the mountains to effect the Chapalla Area?

Re: Storm a comin'
It depends on the angle it hits the coast...lots of them may touch manzanillo then hook towards Cabo... We'll probably get rain out of this, not a lot of wind. See:

Re: Storm a comin'
At this moment it is raining lightly with light and gusty wind here in Barra de Navidad. An occasional moderate squal passes through. The storm swell is running and the surfers were out in force this AM.

Depends on the timing. At the moment, the winds are still coming onshore...i.e. flowing from the Pacific and inland. Around the middle to the end of June, that wind changes and becomes an offshore wind. A hurricane will override that normal flow of air somewhat. But that wind change is one of the reasons why the area from just south of PV to Mazatlan is pretty protected from hurricanes. The big ones do get through but if you look at a web site showing historic paths of hurricanes, you'll see a big arc for most of them that make it that far north...away from the coast just below Vallarta and curving back in to the Baja or just further west out into the ocean.
I believe most of the rain in this area comes from disturbances on the east coast...and they follow that "changed" wind pattern inland.
Not a know it all but have watched the hurricane patterns for the last 8 years or so on the NOAA site. Interesting.

Re: Storm a comin'
Sounds like flooding could be the biggest problem. Hope everyone closer to the storm does OK. Of course, with my great powers I am deliberately having it do the worst damage possible to the folks along the coast just so my grass will be greener.
Now if I could just get Solo outside where I can fry him with a lightning bolt. Some people really are a waste of oxygen.
