This IS good news!
I've been told in the village that Mario and Maria's son, Abel, is alive and was among those at the rescue/escape in Tala. Both of his friends that he was kidnapped with on the Ajjijic malecón are alive as well. They're in Guad and no one knew when he could be coming home.

Re: This IS good news!
Yes it is great news but the whole thing brings a good question. Some people claim that the violence plaguing the country is bad vs evil. These boys certainly don't seem to fit into the bad guy niche so are the cartels now snatching innocents off the streets in their quest to terrorize? If that is the case, and to me it looks that way because some of the victims whose bodies were found in Guadalajara a few months back were innocents, then I'd say the problem is far more grave than many want to admit. And if it is the case then when will these cartels be considered terrorists and be dealt with as such?

I have been told that the families have been trying to keep their boys names and locations quiet, for obvious reasons.

They should be dealt with extreme prejudice. Perhaps some vigilante justice is in order. No?

Solo:
You make an excellent point about the terrorism aspect! When one reads the various reports out of areas like Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila and Veracruz, one gets the feeling that the military may already be taking that approach in the high violence areas. More and more, the stories are about how many bad guys have been dispatched rather than captured and arrested.

Re: This IS good news!
I am soooo happy for the people who were rescued and their families. I am equally sad for those that didn't make it.
Solo, your comments scare the crap out of me because the same thing has crossed my mind. They are, indeed, domestic terrorists. Shoot first, ask questions later....unless they can provide information in which case, shoot them in the knees, get information and then, let them ROT in jail.

This is NOT SO good news.
I have just been told by my maid who lives in Ajijic that the 3 boys have NOT been found.

Conflicting information abounds. Is it not possible that this is an attempt to keep information about the boys' and their whereabouts quiet? Lizzy
