Back in 2006 we had 3 feeders, have photos of at least 15 hitting the feeder....then discovered sugar bats also "feed" since removing, they work for their food.

Hey, everyone and everything gets the grumpies after a sugar crash. Territorial fights require more feeders.
I love our hummingbird encounters. In San Miguel, they would fly right into the house and hover in front of my face to let me know the feeder was empty. On the coast, another one was flying through the house but got his "beak" stuck in the screen door. I carefully extracted him and took him outside and gently placed him on the patio table to recover. Our woofie was very concerned and we both stood quietly about five feet away to observe. After about five minutes, the hummer perked up and took flight...pulled a u-turn and hovered right in front of my face. Then he hovered to the top of my head and down to my shoulders then left shoulder to the right shoulder and sped away. I truly felt that I had been blessed.
The blue flowered vines are a hummingbird magnet.

I had a HUGE humming bird feeder and wondered why it was empty every morning. Then one night I turned the light on the back patio and there was a swarm of bats eating the sugar water. I had to take it in at night and consumption went way down.
