Mexican joke

I heard this joke from my mexican friend.

President Obama and president Calderon had a summit meeting. Afterwards they were relaxing.

And president Calderon asked president Obama: ¿Quieres una cerveza Negra?

And president Obama asked: ¿Quieres una cerveza Indio?

Did you ask your Mexican friend about the joke, like was it because the oldest generations of Mexicans never liked the Negro race? That is what I heard from friends who had lived here 4 years before we visited.

And on George Lopez most recent comedy TV show he made jokes about his grandmother disliking Negras.

No John. I think this is supposed to be a joke on president Calderon. Indio means Indian which is kind of insulting in Mexico.

The native people are called indigenous NOT Indians.
