Gun shots and explosion

Last night in west Ajijic we heard about eight gunshots and then what sounded like a grenade, It was around 11:30pm or so. All quiet after that.

I was sitting at my computer with window open. It sounded as if it was below us or just slightly to the east or west. The explosion did not sound like the explosion the time a grenade was thrown into the arroyo next to the new fish store at La Huerta Plaza. Too difficult to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. It was dead silence afterward. There were no vehicles speeding off and no sirens. My friend went walking 2 miles to Las Palmas this AM and saw nothing. Maybe just some druggies having fun!

Yes the explosion was rather thumped. I have never heard a grenade before so not quite sure. It sounded like what I would imagine a concussion grenade to sound like. Kind of like a gas tank exploding. We didn't hear any sirens or cars either.

My housekeper was house sitting in Lucerna and she said there were sirenes down there east of her and west of the cemetary on the lake shore.

Sound in mountains with lakes travels some very strange ways so who knows if it is correct but I heard one big explosion and sirens in the west and I am east of the cemetary.
Some people say there was a gun fight but no one so far seems to know where and what the whole thing was all about.

We always hear sirens in the mountains because sound can echo upward. We hear the sirens on Sunday nights when there's an accident, during the last grenade explosion and when the grandmother and grandchild were killed at La Canacinta. I was up until 12:10 Pm, but heard no sirens.

Well you did not hear them and my housekeeper heard them what difference does it make. No one knows anything and it was not in the news, it is a non event so far.

I am the one who said I heard lots of sirens. But I was here in Chapala and around that same time there were quite a bit of sirens heading out towards Ajijic. I just thought maybe they were headed that way. I can't tell you where they went other than down the carretera towards Ajijic.

Probably more drug dealers getting shot for various reasons. Possibly not paying their debt or when a new cartel member comes in to the territory, they insist these guys buy from them. If they get a "no" answer, it's bang your dead.

Kinda like what I said above in my previous post above, although I didn't name names. Late news by the GDL Reporter as the Mexicans in town suspected.

A grenade was thrown at an empty house where a light was on but no one was home. The foreigners who live close by call the police. No one was hurt.
