Re: Truck explosion
It's being said that it was an electrical problem, a battery can explode.

Re: Truck explosion
I was wondering if there was more than one truck. After the first one exploded, maybe an hour or so after, the same kind of explosion happened twice again. There were many other loud noises that sounded like maybe fireworks ... the strange thing was there was no other sounds ... like music, people laughing/talking, like there usually are if it is a party down the hill. However, no more sirens either.

Forgot to mention it was a police truck.

Re: Truck explosion
We are with you addtocart. The initial very loud explosion was - in its character - too reminiscent of the spring of 2012 when grenades were being tossed not far from there (Alceseca and Hacienda Don Pedro), followed by numerous loud popping sounds over several minutes, then a second very loud explosion. Probably one of those "we will never know the real story" events.

Contrary to what some posters believe, a thread will go on as long as there are people interested in discussing the topic or until the thread is locked by a moderator, not just as long as they personally are interested or approve of the topic.

Re: Truck explosion
It was all very unusual, the 10.30 big noise and the number of sirenes there were like 5 batches of them....who knows what happened.

Re: Truck explosion
That seems to be one thing we can always count on here: not knowing what really happened.

Re: Truck explosion
New, when you are no longer interested in a thread, it is polite to just stop reading it rather than telling everyone else to "move on."
If you were at a party and in a group having a comversation, would you say, "I have heard everything I want to on this topic. Everybody stop talking about it now"? Most likely not. You would wander off and find a conversation more to your liking and join it. That is the purpose of moving on to (or starting) other threads.

Re: Truck explosion
Lady Otter rocks, for sure. Just got an update via the Pemex station folks across from the truck explosion: Confirming the officer driving the truck was having problems with the vehicle on his way back from the Joco border. He pulled over, there were flames, he ran to the Pemex station to get an extinguisher, called for help...the engine blew....later the gas tank...the rest is history...glad he is okay and glad it wasn't a nefarious repeat of 2012.
