On April 10, 2012 my friends and I are going without shoes for ONE HOUR, for TOMS SHOES, GLOBAL EVENT "One Day Without Shoes". (3:00-4:00 pm for a large group photo)

It may be warm, at the American Legion Post 7, in Chapala, it'll probably be uncomfortable, and our feet will certainly get dirty, but by doing so, we will help raise awareness of the impact that a simple pair of shoes has on a child's life.

One Day Without Shoes is an annual event hosted by TOM's Shoes, and ...a local group called THE SHOELANTHROPISTS in which students, friends, parents, strangers, and co-workers host and participate in events without shoes. Some go without shoes for an hour, some for the whole day, but all become part of a greater movement toward change.

Your involvement will captivate and educate the Lake Chapala Community about the children of our barrios in Jalisco, Mexico, the local Orphanages (Love in Action and others) and impact the lives of children around the world.

If you would like, please bring a pair of new or gently used shoes to donate at this event. If you have shoes in your closet that you do not wear, someone could really use them..(Childrens, Teens, and Adults)

Did you know that children in developing countries, like Mexico grow up barefoot? Did you know that children walk without shoes for miles, and they often cannot attend school without proper footwear? In Etheopia for example, one million people are suffering from a disease called prodocondosis, preventable with proper hygeine and shoes?

If you could change the lives of children with a simple gesture, would you do what millions do every day?

This April 10th please lead by example by going barefoot and getting photographed at the American Legion Post 7, to be part of One Day Without Shoes. Please just show up, ( 3:00 pm-4:00 pm) line up, take off your shoes and sit down for this International Photo Session, and awareness event. The Photography and YouTube Videos will be seen Internationally.

Smile, put your bare feet up and wiggle those toes!!
