Have you thought about hiring someone for 5 hours per day, two days per week? Working only two hours per day makes his time spent getting to your place a very high percentage of his earnings.

One of our friends uses the services of Spring Clean for his gardening. Eliminates the need to have an official "employee" with all that entails.
Their maids have been doing our housecleaning on a hourly basis for over four years and we are well satisfied.

Yup. Last time we had an official maid, we had to let her go when the house was put up for sale in San Miguel. She went to the labor board and claimed that she'd been working there for a year before the house was even built. Oh my. Things like that just warm your heart, don't they ?

Anyway, I didn't mention that our friend's garden is huge, and looks very well taken care of by the Spring Clean folks.
