Health Care Designations & Health Care Directives / LCS Presentation 2/24/2012
You are welcome to a presentation on the two main pieces of legislation in Mexico and in Jalisco for health care designations and health care directives.
It will be held at LCS on February 24th,
Friday, at 2:00 in the Sala.
There will be a presentation, followed by group questions,
followed by individual questions directly with the attorneys (3 will be
present). There's no charge. The program is sponsored by the Life Planning in
Jalisco project.
One of the main lawfirms in Guadalajara I've used for research on the Life
Planning in Jalisco program is doing a presentation on two key pieces of
legislation:
the first is the Mexican Federal end of life 'palliative' care legislation that
is available to Mexicans and foreigners. It allows you to designate someone to
act on your behalf and to set out 'palliative' care health care directives much
like we know from NOB.
the second piece of legislation is on the new Jalisco state legislation of July
2011 that provides for a limited durable power of attorney (first ever in
Jalisco) and limited (curative care) health care directives. This piece of
legislation pertains primarily to the process of guardianship.
The website www.lifeplanninginjalisco.wordpress.com has a sample Mexican federal
document and some information on the Jalisco state legislation.
