Graffiti in Chapala.
Lots of posts on the other board about cleaning up the graffiti in Chapala, but not a lot here. I don't post on TOB, but we're done our house reno's and would like to help.
Who should we contact? We'd rather join a group than go at it ourselves.

O.K... There's a small group beginning to form. Mainecoons has offered to help (thanks Mainecoons). We need more help to be effective.
Please let us know if you can help in any way.
Thanks

On TOB there is a pinned topic at the top of the "Ajijic Chapala" section with a contact person you can PM.
Jump in folks, unlike a lot of problems, this one can be controlled and defeated.

Mainecoons,
I'll be down for 2 weeks starting March 3rd, perhaps I can be of service.
How do I get to register? Which Board and where is the Ajijic Chapala Topic?

Chapala dot com, Dr. Mike. Try this link. You don't have to register to read the threads. The one about Chapala anti-graffiti is pinned at the very top of "Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara"

You Chapala people better show up and donate money for paint and supplies. Collect free donations of paint from homeowners. Follow the example of Ajijic, who were organized and asked for paint donations and money. We eradicated our graffiti a couple years ago. Mexico looks a lot like L.A.

Re: Graffiti in Chapala.
Hey John, how about being a westside spotter for us? You have my email as we orresponded about your home sale. When you see graffiti around your area or when you are in Ajijic, San Antonio or Riberas, send me an email. Please let me know what collor the tag is and on what kind/what color of wall.
Thanks. In fairness to the Chapala bunch, they have a much bigger job. However, if they had started nearly three years ago, the job was a whole lot smaller then.

Re: Graffiti in Chapala.
Our group has been going for about 3 weeks now and we really have made a difference! We've been working east of Madero all the way to the park and heading north. We also cleaned up the stretch of Hidalgo coming in to town on one outing.
We're having lots of fun and working with a great bunch of people. Antonio is an awesome leader!
Please... If you cannot help... We need donations of supplies and peso's
Thanks

Re: Graffiti in Chapala.
Thanks CB . We can use all the help we can get.
CheenaGringo... Sorry but no pics. Our hands are full of paint and thinner the whole time we're out. Try to picture a wall with graffiti... and then picture a wall without graffiti.

Re: Graffiti in Chapala.
The Graffiti Removal Group in Chapala continues to amaze me! We jumped into a new area today (northwest Chapala) and made a huge impact in the busiest (and greatly tagged) area; we were very visible to the community and got a lot of work done.
BTW.....If you're new to Chapala and want to meet some great people, this is your perfect opportunity. Come join us......the group is motivated and personable and we have a lot of fun while accomplishing something that is so rewarding.
Because we are a fairly large group and get a lot covered in a short period of time, we're always looking for more paint, PESOS, and volunteers to assist us. It seems that our budget is lower than our motivation and I'd hate to see the day when we're not able to go out on our mission because we're out of supplies.
@ Cheenagringo........ you requested some pics about a month ago. Here's a Picasa link to a few before & after pics that were taken today:

You have a great memory! I have to say that those fotos are perfect for showing before and after. I would recommend that those fotos be posted directly into a thread and then be given a sticky for everyone to see.

Re: Graffiti in Chapala.
The Ajijic, Riberas and San Antonio graffiti warriors are really proud of our Chapala brethren. Far and away y'all have the worst problems and the level of effort and results you've produced in such a short time are truly amazing and gratifying.
I chuckled a bit when your "BIG3" gang of punks came over here and tagged the other day. They must be getting very frustrated. Keep up the good work and keep the pressure on. Maybe one day even GDL will get it that we don't have to tolerate this vandalism.

Jeano.gal. In the interests of personal security may I suggest an avatar instead of a personal photo. As for "the Guys" they're so but ugly it doesn't matter.
